Moving Forward

This is sylvian. She is awesome! She will be baptized on the 30th.

Bonjour Tout le Monde!

This week was great ! We found a lot of new investigators this week who seem to be pretty interested and we started progressing with some other investigators who told us that they wanted to be baptized. One of our awesome amies is sister Sylvian. We have been teaching her on Sundays for a while now and she has always liked the church, but scared to make the commitment to be baptized. We have been going slow with her, until last week when she told us she really needs to be baptized. This week we saw her 3 times and she is preparing for the 30th!

We also talked for the first time with a brother who lives on the outskirts of our sector. He came to church with his brother last Sunday and we went to his house in soa. He lives in the bottom of a valley. After the lesson leaving his house to get back to the mainroad was pretty interesting. The slope was too steep to walk normally, we were needing to use our hands in certain parts to climb through the bush. It was pretty complicated, but pretty awesome!

This week we get to have our Zone Conference with the mission president and he is bringing a member of the 70 with him, Elder Ellis will be here. He doesn’t speak French apparently, but it will be great! He is coming to see and assist our district conference and see the district so they can set a date to have it become the first stake in Cameroon. The district president said if the saints do their best in church attendance and tithing there will be no problem if we do that early next year. That also means a member of the 12 apostles would come! I am pretty excited for that. Saturday and Sunday our the district conference and it will be huge. Our district president told us that the 70 said it would be completely by the spirit. We know he will talk and his wife , but all the others will be chosen by the spirit the day of, so all the leaders need to prepare something just in case they get picked. I thought that was cool. I am pretty excited for that and there will be a conference for all the members of yaounde to hear from the authority as well. It will be a really great week coming up!

Oh I forgot to say. With my first converts. The older sister is getting married next saturday to a return missionary! (very rare in cameroon) and also his mission president is now the temple president in ghana who is going to pay for them to go to ghana later this year to be sealed by him!! (Extremely rare)

There are members who have been in the church 10 years without going to the temple my convert will be going after 1 year! Super proud super happy missionary!

So on monday I went and bought me a suit. No missionary going to africa needs to buy a suit because here they are 40 dollars. It was great! Sunday was nice and cool and we wore the suits to church and the members were shocked. It was so funny all the sisters were like dang Scoffield "Tu es BEAU" it was pretty fun. new tie too. 2 dollars. new hair cut too. 4 dollars.
