My African Twin and Baptisms!

Elder Idumu, my twin, and I sporting our cameroonian best after singing happy birthday!

Bonjour tout le monde!

I hope everyone had a great week! This week was pretty good for us. We found a new ami who is named Maxim and holy cow he is really awesome. At one point in his life he wanted to be a catholic priest, but didn’t pass the tests, so he left the church and since then he has not gone to church. He has a lot of problems in his life and one day he was super discouraged and he went into his room and was crying and asked God to tell him what he needs to do with his life. That day he left his house not knowing where to go, but knowing God would help him. He got into the transport and needed to pick his destination. He said there was only one thing that came to his mind. Our church building was what popped into his head and he went over to the building in bastos. He had no idea what church it was, he just knew where it was. He showed up and the first person he saw was Elder Dimond the senior missionary, who was super nice to him and helped him find us. He was super prepared and the spirit was so strong just while he was telling his story. We are seeing him twice a week and we will see how it goes.

Thursday our appartement got to party just about as hard as missionaries can party. (We ate cake and icecream and listened to Mo-tab). The fun part is that one of my favorite missionaries, Elder Idumu, had his birthday on Friday, so we celebrated together. It was super fun and we got to sing in a few different languages. The french word for twins is jimaux, so we decided that he is my jimau african who is technically 4 years older than me. It was pretty great.

Saturday we had a baptismal service for 2 companionships in our district. It went really well despite the huge thunderstorm that made everyone really late. The work is moving along in the city of yaounde!

That’s about it for the week! Thanks for all the love, support and birthday wishes.

Je vous aime tous!
