Bonjour tout le monde!
I hope everyone is enjoying the first week of summer! This week was really awesome for us here in Yaounde. Monday night we had a family home evening with a new family in the ward, and something super awesome happened. As we were planning on what we wanted to share with this family I looked through a church magazine for a conference talk that we could share with them. I was looking through the talks until I saw the title of a talk given by Neil L. Anderson “What Christ Thinks of Me?” and felt that we needed to talk about that. It turns out that it was exactly what this family needed to hear. The husband told us after we finished the lesson that he knows without a doubt that Heavenly Father is there, thinking about him, because just that same morning he was asking himself that same question, “What Christ thinks of me”. The spirit was super strong and it was such a great family home evening and added to my testimony of the Holy Ghost in missionary work. He is always there helping us so that we can help others.
Wendesday was Cameroonian unity day and because of that helicopters were all over the sky! It was pretty awesome to see and hear. Many passed directly over our apartment.
Saturday our branch held a cultural talent show and it was went really well! We had a great turnout of amis who showed up to watch their children sing and dance. We have some awesome members who made the activity a lot of fun. They invited me to take part in an eating competition. I raced a member to see who could eat a nutella sandwhich and 3 bannanas and a cup of folerie. Unfortunately I lost by a few seconds, but everyone was thought it was hilarious. We also sang “God Be With You Till We Meet Again” for the senior Couple who will be going home this week. They really loved that.
Sunday we had our Branch conference and we filled the sacrament room with our branch and investigators. The district presidency gave some really great talks and the spirit was so strong. Our family of Centrafricans that we found last week all showed up as well! There were 6 of them from the family that came and then we had another 8 investigators who came as well. Our investigators class was full! It was such an awesome Sunday!
Well that is about it for this week! We will have Zone conference and transfers this week, so I will let you know if anything changes!
Je vous aime tous!
