TEACHING BY THE SPIRIT AND HANGING OUT WITH THE YOUTH

Bonjour Tout le Monde!

This week was packed. Monday we had a family home evening for a family with 7 kids who are pretty young and they were watching a pair of baby twin girls. That was a very short lesson because the attention span dissapeared very quickly, but Elder Mongo and I had a fun time with the activity that we planned. The kids were so happy and had a lot of fun. It was a really great time. Wednesday It rained out in sector and my companion and I got a little trapped in between appointments, but when it slowed down a bit we booked it to the church and joined the branch choir. They needed our help with the piano so they can sing. My favorite day this week was Thursday. Something that I have been searching for and studying has been: how I can be guided more often by the spirit. I read some awesome conference talks and really thought about it. That day we had 4 amis who were not there when they said they were going to be. That was a bit frustrating, but the last, unplanned lesson of the day made up for all of it. We had no idea what to do, so we called our second counselor in the branch presidency and we went and visited his little brother and sister who are inactive. His brother has not been to church in years, and he is normally really hard to see because he works, but he was a bit sick so he stayed home Thursday. We small talked a bit and then I said we have a little message we would like to share with you today from the Book of Mormon. I said that not knowing what the heck I was going to say next, but I opened my Book of Mormon and the page fell on alma chapter 7 and in my head I received a confirmation that I needed to talk about the atonement. We read alma 7:11-13 and it was so awesome the spirit was so strong, and the brother who hasn’t been to church in a long time asked the question. “How can one find the courage to come back to church after being gone for so long?” He really opened up and we had a great conversation and talked about the parabole of the prodigal son. Moral of the story: doesn't matter what you have or haven't done in your life, if you turn toward the savoir he will receive you with the arms that have been extended the whole time. That brother was a church on Sunday and had an awesome time. The spirit is so awesome and if we can have it with us, it will do all the work.

Saturday was super fun too. Our district held its first ever youth conference which was led and planned by our awesome missionary couple, the dimonds. It was so fun to see so many youth come and take part in a historic event for the church in cameroun. Because of that activity we also have 3 new amis to teach.

Sunday was incredible. My companion taught an awesome lesson on the atonement and we basically talked about Christ all day. Happy Easter!

That is about it this week! Have a great week everyone!
