Bonjour Tout le Monde

This was a very interesting/ complicated/ super awesome week. So in my last email I talked about getting a new companion and I got him. Elder Ramanantsoa and he came and he was awesome, but there was an emergency transfer in the mission and Elder Ramanantsoa left and I am now back again with Elder Mongo! Those changes all happened over a few days, but after the dust settled it was a pretty great week. The Rain season has now officially started and it has come with force. It appears out of nowhere and comes and wipes out everything. It will show up on even days that begin super sunny and no clouds, so that has been fun getting used too. There were 3 days we arrived to the apartement soaked because we didn’t bring our umbrellas with us, but it is super fun. Saturday was a great day because we spent the whole day cleaning and preparing our new church building for Sunday. That was such a great day, where we got to work with the members and have fun as we got our building ready for Sunday. Later that day we consecrated the building and our district president did that, and that was really nice. Sunday was very awesome. I was a little scared at first that nobody would be there, because when we started sacrament meeting there were no investigators there and only about 12 members, but by the end of the meeting we had basically filled the room. Durning the closing him I felt probably one of the happiest feelings I have felt on my mission. We sang “There is sunshine in my soul” and as we were singing, I looked around and saw how happy everyone was and how glad they were to be in the new building. There are some members in my branch that have walked 2 hours one way to go to church for the past 10 years and this Sunday there trip was cut to just 30 minutes. Everybody was so happy to finally be in the building that they have waited so long for.

This morning we did a zone service activity at a garage and got to help a member in another branch. That was super fun and we washed all the cars in the lot and shoveled away all the garbage. The owner was super awesome and was probably the stongest looking man that I have ever seen in my life. So that was fun.

I wish everyone a great week!

P.S for all of you who are getting mission calls 1) GOODLUCK! and 2) please let me know where you are going!!!!

Love you guys,

Elder Scoffield
