Parties in Yaounde

Bonjour Tout le Monde!

So this was a shorter week, and it went by soo fast. It was the second week with my new companion and it was pretty fun. It is interesting seeing different ways people work, but we are figuring eachother out and finding our unity it is pretty awesome! I got to watch some soccer this week which was intense. Our branch played against some other church and holy cow it was crazy. Unfortunately we lost 1-0 but it was a pretty cool game. This week my companion and I found some awesome new amis so I am pretty excited. I also tried sugar cane this week and that was really cool. Aparently you chew it like gum until it loses it’s flavor and you spit it out. The texture is pretty weird, but it tasted really good.

So I want to talk alittle bit about my favorite amis. They are Frere Honore and Soeur Rose. Sr Rose has been taking the lessons since august, and she really wants to be baptised. She has been waiting for baptism because she isn’t married legally yet to her husband, but soon the two are going to get married and hopefully baptised after that. The goal is to finish everything for them this month, and then have a baptismal service the 5th. If they can get baptised the 5th I will be so happy. Sr Rose needs to be baptised, she tells us every visit, and she has been so patient but now it is all about to finish. But ya shes awesome, she is my african grandma here. She spends the day selling minutes for the cellphones because monthly plans don’t exist here, but when she is not selling she reads the Book of Mormon and conference talks. Also we credit 50 percent of all the new amis to her. She talks with EVERYBODY about us. We ended up giving her a stack of restoration brochures and she has handed them all out to her neighborhood. To me she is the perfect example of “when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren” and shes not even baptised yet. So pray for her and her husband so that everything can go smoothly.
