Haircuts and Bugzappers: another week in Cameroon

Bonjour tout le monde!

This was a pretty great week. My companion and I got a lot done and had fun doing it.We have a baptism service this next saturday with some pretty awesome amis, so that will be great! So my hair has been pretty long and I needed to cut it pretty badly, and then one day a brother in my branch says he owns a coifferie and he would like to cut my hair. He said he has never cut hair for “Les blancs” aka white person hair, but he watched a lot of videos and wanted to try. So this week we went to him, it took a long time at first because he wanted to scissor cut it but then it was taking too long so then he just got the buzzer out. SO now my hair is really short, but it’s a good thing because we missionaries are supposed to have short hair, its just I havent had hair this short in a while. Another fun thing was that my district leader found one of those mosquito bug tennis racket zappers in the marchet one day and bought it and it has been our new favorite toy. That first night my companion went on a mosquito hunt and killed nearly 40 in just a few minutes. I have never slept so good since being here its been awesome, and whenever we get bored we go on mosquito hunts, so that has been fun. Today was pretty awesome because as a zone we got to go to mount Fébé. It was the place where Elder Jeffery R. Holland set apart cameroon for missionary work in 2009. We all read what he said and it was such a special experience, especially knowing that our service right now is laying the basework for years to come. The church is really new here but it is growing so fast. I cant wait to look back and see all progression, knowing that I played a part in its infant stages. So that was such a great time and 16 missionaries singing « high on a mountain top » was pretty powerful. We got to play soccer again as a zone and that was awesome, I really really love how often we get to play.
